For over 40 years, WestEd has focused on some of society’s most enduring and significant challenges in education and human development, including:
- helping all children and youth enter school healthy and eager to learn;
- tailoring effective assessment strategies for states and districts;
- supporting education leadership;
- enhancing teachers’ ongoing professional development; and,
- finding ways for community-based groups to collaborate and solve problems.
WestEd brings the best ideas, models, research, and solutions to such challenges. Our work is far-reaching because our goal is ambitious: success for every learner. We strive to enhance and increase education and human development within schools, families, and communities. In particular, WestEd has as a priority improving the lives of those children, families, and communities least well-served by current education, health, and social systems. Our commitment has resulted in high-quality work that makes a difference. Within each Area of Work (listed in the bar to the right) you will find a brief description, feature stories, resources, events — and most importantly, a list of dozens of WestEd services targeted to help you improve education and human development.
